History of the Dreaming Beyond Borders Resource Center

The Dreaming Beyond Borders (DBB) Resource Center was established in 2019 led by student activists from the Here to Stay club. The club was established in fall 2017, as students wanted to create a support system for undocumented, DACA, and mixed-status families at Oregon State University.

Additionally, in 2018, club members of Here to Stay developed a budget proposal to establish a center at OSU to further support undocumented students. The proposal contained the goals of the center, which included providing Academic Support, Access to Legal Support, Sense of Belonging within the OSU Community, and Outreach into the Community for DACA and undocumented students and those with mixed-status families. In the summer of 2018, the proposal was approved and the DBB held its grand opening in 2019 and has continued to offer programming and support to undocumented students.
